Executive Director

Scope of the Job:

The Executive Director (ED) provides leadership to the organization and manages its day-to-day affairs in support of MobileMed’s mission and goals in service to the community. The ED leads and supervises the Executive Team, to facilitate clinical, operational, and financial excellence. The ED also works closely with the community, fostering collaborative relationships and achieving fundraising success while establishing greater visibility of MobileMed.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Board Relations

  • Report regularly to the Board of Directors on MobileMed’s operations, finances, clinical quality, and risk management activities.
  • Facilitate strategic planning with the Board in service to MobileMed’s mission, and report on the execution of strategic initiatives.

 Leadership, Vision, Strategy

  • Under the direction of the Board of Directors, provide strategic leadership to the organization, and translate vision into concrete actions that advance the mission to help achieve strategic goals and assure that actions accomplish desired outcomes.
  • Provide visionary leadership to facilitate both short and long-term sustainability and growth.

 General Management

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the organization, working collaboratively with staff to carry out its goals and objectives. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and processes, promoting improvements, as needed.
  • Oversee Mobile Med’s operations and programs, ensuring that MobileMed delivers high-quality care and service excellence. Ensure that policies and procedures support organizational excellence and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Work in partnership with the Executive Team (ET) to provide effective management that advances organizational priorities and facilitates quality improvements to enhance patient care, organizational management, outcomes, and risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Directly supervise ET – Medical Director, Director of Clinical Operations, Director of Finance & Administration, and Director of Development & Outreach.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain qualified staff to maintain a high-performing ET. Provide internal leadership and mentorship to staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth and an environment such that MobileMed is a rewarding place to work.

 Financial Oversight & Management/Fundraising & Grants

  • Lead efforts to sustain and capitalize on MobileMed’s designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), addressing grant submission and reporting, compliance, supplemental funding opportunities, etc.
  • Ensure strong fiscal stewardship and annual budget oversight, maintaining a clear understanding and communication of the organization’s financial performance and outlook while identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost containment
  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to ensure the financial stability and growth of MobileMed. Work with the Director of Development to ensure strong community engagement and foster positive relationships with existing/prospective donors and organizational partners.

 Community Engagement, Relationship Building and Advocacy

  • Ensure regular outreach efforts focusing on both short-term and long-term MobileMed and community initiatives.
  • Serve as the MobileMed Ambassador and Strategic Partner in the community to share information, lead or identify new initiatives, and to identify populations in need of service, minimizing barriers to services.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including consumers, board members, volunteers, community leaders, donors, corporations, community organizations, and partners.
  • Advocate for MobileMed and the needs of underserved populations on a local, state, and national basis.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least five years in a senior leadership role for a nonprofit organization, preferably in the healthcare Experience working in an FQHC is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business healthcare management, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge/experience in community health and the social service sector, including familiarity with the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
  • Record of success working with government agencies/funding sources
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, financial management, operational leadership, and oversight.
  • Demonstrated networking skills with an ability to build and sustain partnerships.
  • Ability to represent MobileMed on external committees and in an advocacy
  • Proven successful track record of fundraising, including engaging current and prospective donors, soliciting major gifts, and securing and managing grants from foundations and other
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including the Board of Directors and Board Committees, patients, and community partners
  • Strong and effective written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and operationalize solutions.
  • Ability to promote a positive and effective organizational culture for staff and volunteers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and a working knowledge of accounting, human resources, and development systems Knowledge of healthcare IT systems and their application is a plus.
  • Ability to supervise effectively, delegating work assignments, setting expectations and monitoring
  • Self-starter capable of taking initiative and anticipating needs.
  • Willingness to be available for some evening and weekend hours, as needed, to successfully lead and manage MobileMed activities.
