Dear FRIENDS:

If you’re like me, you’ve probably used some highly emotional descriptors in reflecting about this past year. And the effects of the pandemic will assuredly linger for a long time. Fortunately, there is reason for optimism.

MobileMed has been actively responding to COVID-19 specifically – from safety measures and health education/promotion to treatment referrals and grief counseling, as well as a huge effort around vaccinations. Beyond that, COVID has shined a light on the importance of community health centers more generally.

MobileMed has improved the health of thousands of our most vulnerable neighbors at this difficult time! Our patients hail from 100 countries and speak over 25 languages; all are low-income and 80% are uninsured. We’ve been there for them in our primary care clinics across Montgomery County, through telehealth and other new initiatives, and through effective case management and assisting patients navigate to outside resources.

We never forget that it’s about changing one life at a time.

Take “Paulina” for example. A long-time MobileMed patient, Paulina has kept her chronic disease under good control with our help. When the pandemic hit, she lost her job and felt incredible frustration and anger. Fortunately, Paulina engaged in behavioral health counseling, and expresses her gratitude about MobileMed’s holistic approach:

“MobileMed has been there for me. My personal life is so much better…a better relationship with my family…and my work.” I don’t know what I would do without MobileMed.”

Making a difference for people like Paulina relies on our generous community.

Will you consider providing a gift of health to our most vulnerable neighbors?

We could not do this work without our extraordinary team of staff and volunteers, nonprofit and governmentpartners, and supporters like YOU.  Collectively, we can build a healthier community during these stressful times!

Your gift will help us:

  • Serve more neighbors in need of a regular doctor
  • Provide routine preventative health screenings
  • Treat the whole patient with integrated behavioral health
  • Empower patients to manage their chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes
  • Connect patients to non-medical community resources essential to their health
  • Support patients and other community members enroll in Medicaid, Medicare and qualified health plans
  • And, continue to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 with vaccinations, health education and home supplies

As you consider your year-end giving decisions, please consider contributing to community health. A $50 gift enables one counseling visit. A $75 gift enables one medical visit. How many patients can you help today?

With your support, we are able to truly impact people’s lives and we do so through high quality services and strong financial stewardship. We are again recognized as One of the Best DC area charities by Catalogue for Philanthropy and honored by Greater Nonprofits. MobileMed was awarded the Gold Quality Leader designation for being among the top 10% of all community health centers nationally in clinical performance. We were also the only health center in Maryland recognized for our COVID-19 vaccination efforts. Every dollar is leveraged too by donated services, volunteer time, and partnerships.

Let’s work together to provide healthcare access for all, one patient at a time.
