Our Staff - Paid and Volunteer

The culturally diverse staff at MobileMed are smart, creative and committed to excellence. Thirty-five full-time and part-time paid employees, together with 200 volunteers – including doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses and medical assistants – deliver MobileMed’s outstanding services. They come from many countries around the world and are conversant in multiple languages including Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, Farsi and Amharic.

In addition to providing much needed healthcare services, the staff produces multilingual education materials, maintains a centralized credentialing system that ensures that healthcare providers’ credentials, education and training are up to date, and implements strategies for improving patent care and patient experience. MobileMed participates in ongoing peer review to ensure compliance with policy and best practices.

Founded by volunteers, MobileMed values its rich tradition of volunteerism. In addition to treating patients, volunteers serve as clinic registrars, participate in oversight and planning committees, provide financial support and assist in all areas of the agency’s operations. MobileMed staff, both paid and volunteer, work together to provide the best healthcare possible to MobileMed’s patients. All staff, paid and volunteer alike, participate in ongoing cultural competency training using a variety of resources including the Cultural Competency Manual developed by senior MobileMed staff. The handbook, and the training, continues to be a useful tool in MobileMed’s efforts to ensure that its services are delivered in a culturally competent manner.
