For more than forty years MobileMed has been committed to a community-based service delivery model that encourages collaboration with local stakeholders. While all of MobileMed’s clinics subscribe to standard MobileMed protocol, each clinic also reflects the unique character of the patients and communities it serves. This empowers communities to develop clinics – with MobileMed’s assistance – that are truly responsive to local needs. Using this model, MobileMed has organized clinics to respond to the county’s African-American, Asian, Ethiopian, Haitian, Hispanic, Mid-Eastern and West African populations. All clinics, regardless of their location, targeted population or collaborating partners, are open to the general community.
Additionally, MobileMed is an active member of many community-based coalitions and provider groups, specifically those that address the needs of the homeless, individual ethnic populations and/or targeted communities. Our participation in these groups enables us to remain informed and responsive to the needs of specific populations. To be certain that our programs and procedures meet the community’s needs, we seek to recruit our staff and volunteers from those areas in which we serve.
Among our many partners, MobileMed collaborates with the following community-based groups: CASA de Maryland, Chinese Culture and Community Service Center, Korean Community Service Center, L’Accueil-Marie-de-L’Incanation (L’A.M.I.), Communitiy Ministries of Rockville, Georgetown Center for Trauma and the Community and the Upcounty Network of Providers. In addition, MobileMed is an active member of Community HealthLink, Health Care or the Homeless, Gaithersburg Coaltion of Providers, Montgomery County collation for the Homeless and The Rockville Caregivers Coalition.
