Development Associate

MobileMed Administration, Development, Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Open Job Position

Full-Time • Non-Exempt • Reports to Director of Development and Outreach

Mobile Medical Care, Inc. (MobileMed) is a Federally Qualified Health Center and nonprofit community healthcare organization serving low-income adults in Montgomery County, Maryland. MobileMed’s practice environment is collaborative and patient-centered.

Primary Responsibilities

Assists with MobileMed’s fundraising, communications, marketing, and social media activities. Tracks donations in database, prepares correspondence, maintains website, manages social media. Assists with volunteer recruitment and maintains volunteer files.

Specific Duties

1. Maintain Donor Database (Little Green Light)

  • Ensure that donor records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Produce acknowledgement and thank you letters
  • Produce solicitation analysis reports

2. Fundraising

  • Assist in researching foundation prospects, drafting Letters of Inquiry and grant reports
  • Assist with direct mail campaigns; produce mailing lists and written materials
  • Assist with organizing annual fundraising and other special events
  • Assist in preparation and production of the Annual Report

3. Social Media

  • Update and maintain MobileMed website (WordPress)
  • Help develop/edit new website content
  • Manage Facebook and Twitter accounts, producing new content for both on a regular basis
  • Help create social media campaigns to expand number of MobileMed followers
  • Help design and manage email blasts (Vertical Response)

4. Volunteers

  • Help enlist clinical and clerical volunteers via social media and other avenues
  • Administer first step of volunteer application process, completing paperwork and other follow-up as needed
  • Manage volunteer files

5. Other duties as assigned, including helping with various community outreach activities.


Position requires self-motivated individual with the following experience and qualities:

  • Work experience in development, communications, and/or marketing preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Database experience
  • Social media and website management experience
  • Intermediate or higher level in Excel and Word; experience with MS Publisher a plus
  • Proficient writing and editing skills
  • Ability to interact well with staff and other individuals in a culturally diverse environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
