2015 ANNUAL MEETING

On October 26, 2015, MobileMed held its 2015 Annual Meeting in Suburban Hospital’s Auditorium. The evening began with a reception that honored Dr. Richard Cannon, the founding medical director of the MobileMed/NIH Heart Clinic at Suburban Hospital, now in its 8th year. The meeting featured a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating MobileMed’s new designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), and a fabulous keynote speaker – Julie Rovner, Robin Toner Distinguished Fellow at Kaiser Health News. As an FQHC grantee, MobileMed will be able to greatly expand its impact in the community. Ms. Rovner, a noted expert on health policy issues who spent 16 years as health policy correspondent for National Public Radio, spoke about “Health Care – A Look Ahead”. Lastly, MobileMed gave out two prestigious awards named after its co-founders: The Cohen Outstanding Employee Award and The Meyersburg Award. Marvin Sorto, MobileMed registrar/driver, received The Cohen Award for his stellar attitude, dedication, teamwork and quest for excellence to provide effective, high-quality patient services. Dr. Richard O. Cannon III received The Meyersburg Award for his years of service and outstanding contributions as a volunteer provider and the founding medical director of the MobileMed/NIH Heart Clinic.
